Economics at Osaka City University

Osaka City University is one of the largest and most prestigious public universities in Japan. The University has its roots in Osaka Commercial Training Institute, whose history dates back to 1880, and has its research and educational mission firmly focused on economics and commerce.

The Graduate School of Economics was founded in 1953 and is now a leading research and educational institution in the Kansai area. The alumni network of the school includes a number of eminent economists and is now spreading rapidly into neighboring countries.

The School of Economics has its main building in the University’s Sugimoto Campus. The Sugimoto Campus is conveniently located in the southern part of Osaka, the second largest city in Japan, and promises easy access to both the city center and the New Kansai Airport.
